Muscular system notes

I found these notes that give a good explanation of flexors, extendors, and other muscle bone interactions.

Here is a cool site for identifying even the little muscles we aren't studying.

Wiki pedia also has lots of anatomy links and information.

Integumentary System

If you look in the text book p. 932 you will see how doctors and scientists have been making artificial skin for use in emergengy situations. Check out this video and see some cutting edge medical advances in skin repair; basically they are spray painting new living skin cells onto the burn victims.

Human Systems Prezi

Here is my Prezi on human systems.

I hope you find it useful and interesting.

This is a great interactive site about the human body that I think you may also enjoy.

And here is a link to a site from the National Institutes of Health. This is a great place to look for free medical information.

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/healthtopics.html

In case you have never used Prezi, it is a FREE web based presentation application. It is very easy to use and you don't need to buy any software like PowerPoint.

Ecology

http://oceanworld.tamu.edu/resources/oceanography-book/marinefoodwebs.htm

This website gives some great information about marine food webs. If you scroll to the bottom you will see how the fish that are being caught are decreasing in size because of over fishing. I can post more ecology information if anyone has questions, but reviewing your notes and comp book will be a great way to prepare for the test.

Taxonomy

Here is a great site for exploring the diversity of life.

UC Berkeley Museum of Paleontology

Click on one of the 3 domains to explore the kingdoms. Don't be upset that the information is slightly different than what we studied in class; it is the nature of science to change as our understanding of the world changes.
